The EduGut Mission
Making a Global Difference
At EduGut Project, we pride ourselves on taking action to help tackle the global challenge of malnutrition. Our novel approach of creating a global network of university students will help us to spread education about the microbiome, the widespread issue of malnutrition and how we can solve it together.
In a survey we conducted on current university students, 95%* of responders said they would volunteer in our scheme, highlighting the passion current students hold for education. In countries lacking widely available higher education, we hope this morale and passion would extend across all our volunteers, enabling us to reach these countries by sending volunteers out. Our partnership with Worldwide Universities Network would further support this and boost the reach of our global network.

To further aid countries with less widely-accessible universities, we will provide seed packets for vegetables and herbs to encourage children to eat healthier by growing the produce themselves. This also acts as a fun stimulatory activity for growing children, allowing them to actively influence their diet and experience nature.
Our education sessions will teach parents of children aged 6-months (post-weaning age) to 4 years old, as this is the age range where the microbiome can be altered most easily by diet, before it stabilises at 4 years old.
By educating new parents and carers on the importance of the gut microbiome in healthy living and how influential it is in health condition progression (for example developing obesity), we can help create a healthier future, using today's learners.
The EduGut Project Philosophy
Building the Future
We are committed to creating a welcoming educational atmosphere that parents and carers feel comfortable learning and expanding in, whilst helping build our students in their confidence, both academically and personally.
We wish to empower both parents and students alike, to encourage them to take action against malnutrition by increasing their knowledge and awareness of gut health and the health consequences it has.
We embrace all types of learners and aim to make our sessions as accessible as possible, for example, our recipe leaflets are also available in Braille. Additionally, if your child has any allergies or food intolerances, please let our team know and we will suggest suitable substitutions for all of our recipes.
